On Saturday, I delivered my first cake for someone I don't know. I was quite happy with how it came out. Of course, it wasn't perfect-but I did my best. I would love to get them perfect. I guess I will keep working on it! I definitely need to work on how to prioritize time with the kids and cleaning and decorating cakes. I am not 100% sure how to do both. I suppose as I get better and the kids get older and I get better, it will get easier! I started a facebook page for my cakes, and I really hope that I can get a small business going. I would really like to have 1 big cake per week and I could easily do 2-3 simple round or sheet cakes as well. I hope I can get enough word of mouth advertising!

Definitely starting my cake business

I am really planning on making a business out of cakes. I am working on one right now for someone I dont know. My first "real" order!!!! It is a purse on a present. It is looking good so far. I can't wait to see it when it is done tomorrow!!
Yesterday I bought a learn how to knit book, because I don't have enough on my plate and have decided I need to knit Callen a baby blanket since that is the only type of blanket material he likes. Maybe I will win Julie's giveaway tomorrow for a gift certificate to Creative Dragonfly and I can buy one instead! Check out Julie's facebook page and blog to find out the details for her daily giveaways this month! www.juliepaisleyphotography.com !

Already Missed a Day!

Well, Maybe I won't be posting EVERY day. Sometimes life just gets way too busy around here. We had such a productive weekend around here finally. The TV is hooked up the way it is supposed to be. The TV upstairs is finally hooked up. The outlet under the couch is now working The trampoline is set up for the kids. The swingset is in the right spot, and Bill changed the oil in the cars!
Today starts the first weekday of the school year, and the kids might not like the changes I have in store! No more procrastinating or "forgetting" things. No more wasting time. No more nagging from me. We will see how well it goes!
Zachary rode Tarzan for real for the first time yesterday. I think he was a bit nervous, but he did it, and I think he had fun. I don't know that I see him riding long term, but if he has fun for now, that will be great! I look forward to when I get to ride my horse consistently. Maybe someday soon!
On another note check out Julie Paisley Photography. She has another great giveaway today for her Birthday month celebration! She is giving away a gift every day to someone who follows her blog. All of the details are on her blog/website: www.juliepaisleyphotography.com

I am going to attempt to blog again. We will see if I can actually keep up with it this time! It is the first day of the new year. I wonder what it has in store. What will I encounter this year as the mom of 4? Is it worth making the typical resolutions? Probably not! Instead I would rather reflect on the past year and enjoy the next one!
Last year we moved into our house, had a baby, and have just been overall busy! I want to continue to enjoy my family and friends this year. Of course, it wouldn't be a new year if you didn't realize changes need to be made and attempt to implement them. My kids might not like some of them, but oh well!!!!
I also need to learn to appreciate the little things they do and enjoy watching them interact with each other. ( When they are being nice!!!) I also need to learn to take some time for me! I actually do have a couple of things planned for me, finally. Well, I guess only one counts. I am going to take a photo workshop with Julie Paisley with Julie Paisley Photography. ( www.juliepaisleyphotography.blogspot.com or www.juliepaisleyphotography.com )She does an AMAZING job with catching the kids personality ( Don't they look great in this picture?) I hope I can actually learn to use my camera and make pictures look almost as good as she does!!!! It will be fun! I also plan on getting a cake business going. We will see how well that goes being that it is so difficult to get cakes OUT of our neighborhood!

10 miles!!!!!!

I ran ten miles today!!!! Okay, I probably only truly ran 8, but my feet travelled 10 miles. ia m really enjoying this. Very odd for me I know. I also love having my ipod. It definitely helps. I downloaded more music, and found my preferred style of music is definitley not running music. I thought some of my favorite Billy Joel and Elton John songs were good to run to. That is until I Like to Move it came on. Then I realized what running music is. Now I have to find a whole bunch of songs. I guess it is time to broaden my horizons. Right now I am listening to Rhianna, and I like it. I feel like the guy in Green Eggs and Ham who won't try it, but finds he likes it. At 32, I will learn to like "dance' music.
On the fourth of July I ran my first race ever! I ran in the First Place Sports Celebration 5K. I averaged just over an 11 1/2 minute mile. Not too bad. I hope to be able to keep up that pace, or hopefully improve on that. I actually have goals as far as running goes.
Now that I am getting the hang of running, I really need to get going with the fundraising. It is going well, but I still have a long way to go to get to my total required amount. Wish me luck.
We are off to the beach for vacation this week. It will be nice to get away for a bit.

Running is becoming fun!

Tonight we ran the bridges in Jacksonville again. I loved it! I had so much fun running tonight. I think I even managed to run more than I walked. I had been doing about 50/50, but I think I ran alot more than that tonight. It was pretty exciting to run in downtown, because there are just so many things to see and do. It was great!
Today a friend gave me a bunch of plants to pot up and sell. I will use all of the money I make from that for my fundraising. I hope that I manage to do alot with fundraising. I am still a bit worried about that. We are going on vacation to Myrtle Beach in a week and a half, and I am contemplating calling the grocery stores where we are staying to see if I can stand outside and "beg" for money. It will give me something to do! I am not nearly as much of a beach person as everyone else is, so maybe this just might be the thing to keep me from getting bored. I'll think about it.
